Sasha Bentley-Rohret

DIRECTOR, COLLEGE ACCESS
As the Director of College Access, Sasha leads efforts to connect scholars with essential college application resources, enhance their engagement with college and career exploration, and streamline information sharing through digital platforms, communications, and events. Sasha manages the Admissions Event Series, collaborates with admissions teams to promote a college-going mindset, advocates for credit acceptance, and addresses challenges with transcript obtainment and credit transfers, ensuring students fully benefit from their Ed Equity Lab experiences. She also strengthens partnerships with the Ed Equity Lab’s Consortium of Colleges and Universities and supports high schools in aligning resources with student needs and enriching college applications.
Before joining the Lab, Sasha worked as a teaching assistant and lecturer at the University of Chicago, where she earned her MA in Egyptian Archaeology, and led diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, fostering a more inclusive academic community. Concurrently, Sasha worked at UChicago’s Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures and Atlanta’s Fernbank Museum of Natural History, designing innovative STEAM-based outreach programs for underserved youth and creating engaging youth and family programming.
Sasha is deeply passionate about promoting educational equity and creating pathways for underserved students to feel a sense of belonging within institutions of higher education. Her commitment to student success drives her work to empower scholars, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to achieve their academic and career goals.
