Hello! I am a current PhD student at Harvard specializing in African American literature. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and went to college there also. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy at Mississippi State University, graduating summa cum laude. Directly after completion of my B.A., I moved to England on a Rhodes Scholarship and studied at the University of Oxford. While there, I conducted research on African American writers who moved to Paris after World War II, and spent six months in Paris doing archival work. After two years there, I moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts to begin my PhD at Harvard in African American Literature. When I am not reading books for my PhD or teaching classes at Harvard, you can find me on any number of tennis courts somewhere in the Boston area, or writing fiction, or watching sports
with friends.
