Meredith Savvides

Meredith’s path in education wasn’t a straight line, but a journey fueled by a passion for learning and a desire to empower others. Her undergraduate studies in photojournalism provided a foundation for storytelling, a skill that would later translate beautifully into the classroom. A chance encounter as a substitute teacher in a special education classroom sparked a life-altering transformation. Witnessing the unique potential and challenges faced by children with high needs, Meredith embarked on a Master’s degree in Special Education with an emphasis on emotional/behavioral disorders at Arizona State University (ASU). This new focus led her to research and student teaching within juvenile corrections, further solidifying her commitment to education as a powerful tool for positive change.

For over a decade, Meredith thrived within a Title 1 elementary district in Phoenix. She spent 5.5 years as a dedicated special education teacher, nurturing the growth of her students. Following that, she transitioned into a role as an instructional coach for 7 years. In this leadership role, Meredith spearheaded Response to Intervention efforts, managed school-level Title 1 funds, and fostered strong community engagement. She became a champion for best practices, supporting teachers through professional development and collaborative planning. Fueled by a desire to expand her impact, Meredith pursued a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership during this time.

Meredith’s fascination with the intersection of best practices and technology led her back to ASU for an Instructional Design certificate. This newfound expertise opened doors in higher education, and in 2018, she transitioned to a role as an instructional designer for a large public university. There, she managed diverse programs, supported the QA team, and designed and delivered faculty webinars focused on online teaching best practices.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Meredith embraces a vibrant personal life. She and her husband raise their three children and a beloved dog in Arizona. Together, they share a love for travel and cooking/baking/eating adventures!
