Sierra Espinosa

As a Senior Data and Operations Associate, Sierra supports the Lab’s data collection, management, and analysis efforts to assess organizational impact and drive scalable improvements. Prior to joining the Lab, Sierra worked for Los Angeles Unified School District’s office of District Nursing Services as a Program and Policy Specialist. While at LA Unified, she utilized data collection and analysis to help deepen the nursing department’s understanding of its nursing shortage and prepare administrators to effectively advocate for district-level strategies designed to address the high vacancy rate.

Sierra’s passion for advancing educational equity began with her educational experience as she was the first in her family to attend college. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Public Policy Analysis and a focus on education. After her time in Chicago, she joined Teach For America as a 2019 Denver corps member and taught Pre-Kindergarten and second-grade literacy. Sierra carries with her many lessons learned in the classroom and is deeply passionate about elevating the experiences of school staff, students, and families.
