Camille Seymour

Manager, School Success

Camille began her career in education in North Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a Special Education teacher. Her early experiences underscored the systemic disparities within the education system, particularly for marginalized students from low-economic backgrounds. This realization fueled her interest in education policy, recognizing its pivotal role in driving institutional change.

During her time as an educator, Camille concurrently served as a fellow for the Urban Leaders Fellowship in Washington, D.C., during the summer of 2019. She later returned as the Regional Director for the D.C. region in the summer of 2020. In this capacity, Camille led the strategic implementation of a remote fellowship model, ensuring continued participation of fellows despite pandemic-related restrictions.

After 7 years of teaching, Camille transitioned to the role of Manager of Program Operations at CityWorks DC. In this capacity, she oversaw recruitment and professional development training for youth apprentices. Additionally, Camille offered support to first-year college students through CityWorks DC’s partnership with ASU Local, assisting them with career exploration and academic coaching.

As a Manager of School Success, Camille draws on her background as an educator to guide students along their college journey. Committed to equity, she advocates for providing all students, regardless of race or economic background, with equal access to opportunities. Camille holds a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Leadership from American University in Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO.
